What Does Boy Smells Madonna Smell Like?

Like a Prayer opens with juniper and incense smoke. Resin and amber follow in the heart, and the base is agarwood and cedar smoke. Boy Smells calls it "a signal," one that "burns with Oud Resin, and simmers into cool Cedar Smoke." Perfumer Jerome Epinette says on the product page that he wanted it "to feel instantly warm, smoky and captivating."

Confessions opens with citrus peel and raspberry. The heart is rose and geranium, and the base is patchouli and sandalwood. Boy Smells calls it "a seduction" that "submits to overflowing bouquets of Damascus Rose, and centers itself in Dark Patchouli." Epinette says he wanted "something fruity and floral, but with a darker, smoky edge."

What Makes the Boy Smells Madonna Scent Duo Different?

• Each vessel carries a Madonna portrait. Like a Prayer uses a previously unseen 1989 Herb Ritts portrait, which Boy Smells says Madonna personally selected. Confessions uses a portrait by Ricardo Gomes.
• The two candles take opposite directions. Like a Prayer is built on smoky woods and resins, while Confessions pairs fruit and rose over patchouli.
• Both scents were created by perfumer Jerome Epinette, according to Boy Smells' product pages.

Formula and Packaging

• Like a Prayer: 8.5 oz candle in a black glass vessel with the 1989 Herb Ritts portrait, in its own printed box.

According to Boy Smells, both candles use a vegan, non-GMO wax made with a US-farmed soy blend, "XXXTra Loaded" with fragrance oils and designed to reduce tunneling and eliminate sooting, with an estimated burn time of 50 hours. The brand says the outer packaging is fully recyclable and the glass vessel can be reused, and recommends trimming the wick to 1/4" before each lighting and letting the whole surface melt on the first burn (at least 3 hours).

The Byredo x Iittala LJUS Collection is a limited-edition line of five mouth-blown glass objects for Byredo candles, incense and reed diffusers. Finnish glass design house Iittala made the pieces with the Swedish fragrance house Byredo, and UK prices run from £155 to £300. The collection went on sale worldwide on 16 October 2026. Each piece is sold separately, not as a boxed set, and no candle, incense or diffuser liquid is included.

Updated 16 October 2026: The LJUS Collection is now on sale and in stock on Iittala UK and Iittala's euro store, with confirmed prices for each piece. Iittala Finland also lists three Byredo home fragrance products. Because it's limited edition, stock can change quickly.

Release Date

The Byredo x Iittala LJUS Collection went on sale worldwide on 16 October 2026, timed for the holiday season, as Iittala Japan's press release confirmed. LJUS was first presented as a sculptural installation at MATTER and SHAPE in Paris from 6 to 9 March 2026. Byredo posted a teaser reel on Instagram on 14 October 2026 with the caption "Fire meets ice. A new light is coming."

What Makes the Byredo x Iittala LJUS Collection Different?

• Handmade glass: Each piece is mouth-blown and hand-crafted at the Iittala Glass Factory in Finland, which was founded in 1881. Small bubbles and variations make every piece unique.
• Dual branding: Every piece is engraved with both the Iittala and Byredo logos.
• Made for Byredo formats: The objects are designed around specific Byredo products, mainly the 240 g candle, incense sticks and the reed diffuser set. They are not general-purpose decorative glass.

Materials and Design

• Glass: Lead-free glass, shaped by hand. According to Iittala Japan, artisans blow molten glass at temperatures above roughly 1,000°C.
• Incense holder: The stick holder is stainless steel. Every other part of the collection is glass.
• Design story: According to Iittala, LJUS is built on Nordic light and the contrast of "fire and ice: clarity and warmth, permanence and ephemerality." The forms reference the light cycle from the midnight sun to winter evenings.

Janni Vepsäläinen, Creative Director at Iittala, says: "When Iittala's glass meets Byredo's fire, a new light emerges: elemental, restrained and deeply human."

The Sisley Paris Wood and Orange Zest Candle is a 220 g scented candle with notes of bitter orange, clove, cistus labdanum, cedar and smoky cade. Known in French as Bougie Feu de Bois et Orange Amère, the Fall 2026 candle costs $125 in the US, £97 in the UK and €100 in France. It has been on sale at Bluemercury since at least 16 September 2026 and is now stocked by Sisley's own sites and several department stores.

Sisley's other autumn 2026 launch is the Sisley Paris Advent Calendar 2026, designed with artist Marie-Victoire de Bascher, with 25 items for $905 in the US and £672 in the UK.

When Did the Sisley Wood and Orange Zest Candle Launch?

Sisley hasn't announced an official release date. The earliest listing we found was at Bluemercury on 16 September 2026. By 8 October 2026 the candle was on sale at Sisley's US, UK, French, Swiss and Polish sites. It was also stocked by Bloomingdale's, Saks, Beautylish, Harrods and Breuninger. Sisley's US site currently labels it "Newness" and "Exclusive Preview".

What Does Sisley Paris Wood and Orange Zest Candle Smell Like?

Based on the official notes, the candle opens with spice and citrus: clove and red thyme alongside bergamot, bitter orange and olibanum resin. The heart centres on resinous labdanum and cistus, with cinnamon leaf and tonka bean. The base is woody and smoky, built from two cedars, birch, cade and amyris.

Sisley says the candle evokes "the convivial warmth of an open fireplace". The brand describes a "rich blaze" of cistus labdanum absolute, cinnamon leaf, tonka bean and olibanum. According to Sisley, clove makes it bolder, bergamot brightens it, cedar and cade form a smoky, woody base, and bitter orange adds a final touch.

What Makes the Sisley Paris Wood and Orange Zest Candle Different?

• It joins Sisley's existing scented candles: Candle Campagne, Candle Rose and Candle Tuberose, plus the Campagne and Rose Giant Scented Candles. It is the house's fireplace-themed addition.
• The pyramid pairs bitter orange and bergamot with resins (olibanum, labdanum) and smoky woods (cade, birch, two cedars).
• It is sold under a French name, Feu de Bois et Orange Amère, and an English one, Wood and Orange Zest, depending on the storefront.

British homeware brand The White Company has launched the 12 Days of Fragrance Votive Candle Collection for Christmas 2026, a set of 12 scented votive candles priced at £130. The set is now listed on the brand's UK website with a "New" badge. It is a home fragrance countdown, not a skincare or beauty advent calendar.

What's New

The collection gathers 12 of what The White Company calls its "favourite signature and seasonal scents" into one numbered-drawer box. The candles come in a white box with 12 numbered drawers that opens like a cabinet. The outer sleeve shows an illustrated front door with a wreath.

The brand presents the set in two ways. Buyers can light one votive on each of the 12 days of Christmas, or use the box as a mini festive countdown. The White Company also describes it as an "ideal gift for a loved one (or yourself)."

The brand has not stated a total value for the set.

Care: The White Company's product page gives these safety notes:

Glasshouse Fragrances' A Very Merry World Holiday 2026 collection comprises six limited-edition 380g scented candles in illustrated tins. Each candle costs $60 in the US and is sold separately, not as a boxed set. The collection went on sale on 24 September 2026. Artist Jeffrey Phillips illustrated the tins, which Glasshouse describes as "six fragrances, six festive worlds". Each design includes characters and hidden details, with laser-cut windows that let the candlelight glow through.

Release Date

The collection was listed on the Glasshouse website on 24 September 2026 and is available now. The brand's two 2026 advent calendars went on sale the same day.

Gingerbread House

Listed notes: cedarwood, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper; vanilla, tonka bean, amber.

According to Glasshouse, caramel, ginger and warm spice blend with bourbon vanilla, and the candle "smells like gingerbread dough with caramel drizzled on top." The tin has a gingerbread-style house front. The brand says the artwork imagines a sugar-dusted forest and candy-coated cottage where elves, fairies, toy soldiers and talking reindeer gather.

Christmas Morning

Glasshouse subtitles this one "Spiced Blood Orange & Pine". The brand describes aromatic pine, juicy blood orange, smoky cinnamon, clove and warm musk, summed up as "cinnamon, clove and orange with hints of pine." It comes in a green tin with a lit window scene of a family. According to Glasshouse, the artwork moves the celebration to a safari lodge beneath golden African skies, with baobab trees and long-table feasts.

Night Before Christmas

Listed notes: plum, lemon, lavender, rose.

Glasshouse calls this plum-pudding scent a cult favourite. The brand lists blackcurrant, plum, lemon and lavender, and sums it up as "blackcurrants with a hint of rose and musk." It comes in a red townhouse tin. The brand says the artwork depicts a celebration at a grand British country estate with roaring fireplaces.

Under The Mistletoe

Listed notes: apple, red berries, cinnamon, clove bud.

Glasshouse subtitles this one "Spiced Apple & Red Berries". The brand adds vanilla and sweet caramel, and describes the scent as "shortbread with caramel apples and cinnamon sprinkled on top." The tin shows a white house with a blue door. According to Glasshouse, the scene is a classic Australian Christmas at a white weatherboard home, with barbecued prawns, children in the pool and Santa in board shorts.

White Christmas

Listed notes: fresh aldehydes, greens, orange; eucalyptus, oak moss, fir balsam, plum, lemon; cedarwood, pine, amber, musk.

According to Glasshouse, cedar leaf, fruity clove, eucalyptus and fir balsam sit over warm woods and amber. The brand's one-line summary is "mulled wine with a fresh pine sprig." It comes in a silver tin with a snowy alpine lodge scene. Glasshouse describes the scene as an Alpine escape with snow-draped peaks, stone fireplaces and midnight tobogganing.

Winter Wonderland

Listed notes: pine needles, eucalyptus, apple; red fruits, fir balsam, spruce.

Glasshouse describes freshly cut fir and spruce with pine needles, eucalyptus and cedarwood, summed up as "a fresh spruce tree with the warmth of cedarwood." The tin shows a red-brick townhouse on a green background. According to the brand, the artwork depicts a Christmas party in a Tribeca loft with contemporary art and an avant-garde tree.

What Makes the Glasshouse Holiday 2026 Candles Different?

• Laser-cut windows in the tins let the candlelight glow through the artwork.

Formula and Packaging

According to Glasshouse, each candle uses a soy blend wax and two lead-free cotton wicks, is free of parabens, silicones and PEGs, and has a burn time of up to 80 hours. How to Use

Glasshouse says to trim the wicks to 7mm before each lighting and to burn the candle for at least 1 hour but no more than 4 hours at a time. Keep it away from drafts, fans, air ducts and open windows, and never let the flame touch the side of the vessel. Stop burning when 10mm of wax remains.

Glasshouse Advent Calendars 2026

The Diptyque Advent Calendar 2026, a 25-treasure countdown of candles, perfumes and body care, is on sale now at $525 in the US. It launched on 15 October 2026 on Diptyque's US site and is also sold at CA$710 in Canada, €450 in France and £420 at Selfridges in the UK. Diptyque designed this year's calendar, themed around an enchanted forest, with French artist Jean-Simon Roch.

The same enchanted-forest theme dresses the Diptyque Holiday 2026 Eau de Parfum Editions of Do Son, Eau Rose and Orphéon.

The Design: A Craftsman's Toolbox

Diptyque describes the calendar as a craftsman's toolbox imagined with Jean-Simon Roch. Woodland creatures from the brand's Enchanted Forest and golden detailing cover the box. It weighs 5.5kg and is made in France from FSC-certified paper and card. The drawers can be removed, so the box can be reused as storage after the holidays. Diptyque says the structure and drawers can be recycled if you don't keep it.

The same artwork appears across Diptyque's 2026 holiday collection. According to the brand, the collection includes limited-edition scented candles, eaux de parfum, gift sets and decorative objects.

What Makes the Diptyque Advent Calendar 2026 Different?

• Two calendar-exclusive perfumes: Bois Corsé and Lazulio are listed as exclusive Eaux de Parfum in 10ml sizes.
• Candle-heavy line-up: nine candles, including the limited-edition Sapin (Pine Tree) in a 70g size.
• A reusable toolbox: the drawers can be removed so the box works as storage, and it is made in France from FSC-certified card.

Diptyque suggests storing small treasures in the empty calendar, or taking out the drawers to use it as an open box.
