it has been 2.5 months since I started using retinols into my skincare routine. Initially, I tried The Ordinary Retinol Serum, but I disliked its oily texture.

Then I switched to the CeraVe Resurfacing Retinol Serum, which I adore. I apply it every night, ensure sufficient hydration for my skin, and use sunscreen.

Yet, I continue to experience breakouts on my forehead. Previously, I only had occasional blemishes in that area before using retinols.

Now, I wake up to new pimples every morning. They appear to be closed comedones, which I find difficult to heal. Moreover, for every one that does heal, three new ones appear.

I'm incredibly frustrated with this never-ending purging process. If there's no improvement by April,  I think I’ll stop using that serum

Although I genuinely enjoy practicing skincare and find it relaxing, lately I've been feeling increasingly frustrated. It seems like I'm constantly second-guessing myself, worrying if I'm doing something wrong or not doing enough. The pressure from social media is particularly overwhelming, as it constantly bombards me with the notion that I need to buy new products or adopt a specific skincare regimen that I may have been neglecting. I've invested a significant amount of money and time into researching online, reading reviews, and watching videos, yet it never feels like it's sufficient. Just now, I stumbled upon a TikTok video claiming that chemical sunscreens are terrible and that only expensive mineral sunscreens should be used. It's disheartening because I've made it a habit to wear sunscreen daily, but now I question if the one I'm currently using, which I spent a considerable amount of money on, is actually detrimental. It makes me doubt if I'm doing anything right.

I'm content with the condition of my skin. I rarely experience breakouts, and nowadays, I only purchase new products when I've completely used up something. I strive to minimize the number of products I use and have learned not to impulsively buy everything recommended by dermatologists on social media. However, I hope you can empathize with the frustrations I've expressed.

Urban Decay's Hydromaniac Dewy Liquid Blush is a vegan liquid blush and cheek tint in six shades, launched in May 2023 at $22 each. Urban Decay says it delivers a rosy glow, plumps cheeks for a long-lasting dewy look, and gives 24-hour hydration.

What Is in the Formula?

Urban Decay says the blush has skin-loving ingredients that nourish and hydrate, and search results for its page mention kombucha and marula oil. It is non-comedogenic, so it won't clog pores, and it is said to work on all skin tones, including mature or dry skin. A needle-nose tip allows precise application, and the packaging is travel-friendly and TSA-compliant.

Who Is It For?

Buy it if you want a dewy, blendable liquid blush with a wide color choice, especially if your skin is dry.

What Is Confirmed, and What Is Not?

Confirmed: the six shades, descriptions, $22 launch price and claims come from Urban Decay's announcement. The ingredient mention comes from a search result for its page.
