Does anyone else feel exhausted with skincare at times, or is it just me?

Although I genuinely enjoy practicing skincare and find it relaxing, lately I've been feeling increasingly frustrated. It seems like I'm constantly second-guessing myself, worrying if I'm doing something wrong or not doing enough. The pressure from social media is particularly overwhelming, as it constantly bombards me with the notion that I need to buy new products or adopt a specific skincare regimen that I may have been neglecting. I've invested a significant amount of money and time into researching online, reading reviews, and watching videos, yet it never feels like it's sufficient. Just now, I stumbled upon a TikTok video claiming that chemical sunscreens are terrible and that only expensive mineral sunscreens should be used. It's disheartening because I've made it a habit to wear sunscreen daily, but now I question if the one I'm currently using, which I spent a considerable amount of money on, is actually detrimental. It makes me doubt if I'm doing anything right.

I'm content with the condition of my skin. I rarely experience breakouts, and nowadays, I only purchase new products when I've completely used up something. I strive to minimize the number of products I use and have learned not to impulsively buy everything recommended by dermatologists on social media. However, I hope you can empathize with the frustrations I've expressed.

I strongly believe that individuals who spread the false notion that "chemical SPFs are bad" should be held accountable and not be given a platform to propagate misinformation. I personally equate them to anti-vaxxers who disregard scientific evidence.

In my case, it all boils down to the effort involved. There are days when I wake up, go to the bathroom, glance at my collection of skincare products, and simply feel unmotivated to go through the whole routine. On such occasions, I opt for a quick face wash, apply some SPF, and call it a day.
