The festive season has officially arrived at SHISEIDO. For Holiday 2026, the Japanese beauty house has teamed up with Tomo Koizumi, the Japanese dress designer known for his voluminous, rainbow-bright ruffled gowns. The theme is "Welcome to our party", and the collection brings Koizumi's colourful, dreamlike artistry to a limited line-up of makeup, a face brush and a fan-favourite serum. It launched in Japan on 1 October 2026 in limited quantities, so collectors will want to move quickly.

The Products

Lip Balm: Neon Green Statement (¥4,950)

The standout of the collection is a neon green lip balm with a unique texture that looks like glow-in-the-dark plastic. Despite its bold look, it's designed to give rich hydration in a single swipe, leaving lips plump and free of dullness. Japanese camellia oil gives it a smooth, glide-on feel. The packaging features Koizumi's signature ruffles, making it a gift-worthy treat.

Color + Glow Enhancer #20 FUSHIGI IRO (¥6,270)

Shiseido has launched the Shiseido Color + Glow Enhancer (Holiday Limited Edition), a multi-use face and eye palette priced at $44.00 in the US and available now on shiseido.com. The palette was created with Japanese designer TOMO KOIZUMI and is part of the SHISEIDO x Tomo Koizumi Holiday 2026: Release Date, Products & Prices collection. According to Shiseido, it is designed to illuminate, blush and sculpt, and each compact has its own one-of-a-kind marbled pattern.

What's New: A Palette Inspired by Fushigi Iro

The edition is called Fushigi Iro. According to Shiseido, the Japanese phrase signifies a sense of awe. The palette combines three shades, a blue, a red and a green, which can be used as highlighter, blush and eyeshadow. Its key features, as described by the brand, are:

• Marbled pattern: each palette shows a one-of-a-kind swirl of the three curated shades.
• Photochromic powder: Shiseido says it harnesses light for multidimensional color that stays vibrant in any lighting.
• Skincare Liquid Complex: according to the brand, it supports hydration and smooth application, giving the powder a soft, moist-feeling texture.

Shiseido reports 12 hours of lasting color, clinically tested on 35 women, and 8 hours of hydration, clinically tested on 26 women. The formula includes argan, safflower seed and camellia japonica seed oils.

Meet the Designer: TOMO KOIZUMI

Koizumi was born in Chiba Prefecture in 1988 and taught himself dressmaking from the age of 15. He launched his eponymous brand in 2011 while still at university.

His career since then includes:

• A first New York runway show in 2019, after he was discovered on social media.
• The dress worn for the national anthem at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics opening ceremony.
• Solo contemporary art exhibitions in Paris and Tokyo, with works acquired by museums including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
• The LVMH Prize 2020 and the 39th Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix.
• A client list that includes Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Lauryn Hill and Björk.

According to Shiseido, the palette reflects Koizumi's signature use of vibrant color.

How to Use the Color + Glow Enhancer

Shiseido suggests three ways to use the shades:

1. Solo shade: sweep one shade across the eyelid for a soft wash of color.
2. Pair two: blend two shades together for a flush of blush with built-in glow on the cheeks.
3. Swirl all three: combine all three for a luminous, sculpted finish on the high points of the face.

The palette can be applied with fingertips for a sheer, skin-like effect or with a brush for more diffused placement. For cheeks, Shiseido suggests its MARU FUDE Multi Face Brush.

Price and Availability

The price is $44.00 in the US, and the palette is available to order now on shiseido.com. In Japan it is priced at ¥5700 and was released on 1 October 2026. A UK release has not yet been confirmed, and the palette is not yet listed on Shiseido's UK site.

Shiseido has released its Shiseido Advent Calendar 2026, a 24-door calendar priced at £189 / €205 with contents the brand values at £655. It is available now in the UK, France and Germany. The calendar uses a Ginza Wonder-inspired design in deep red, gold and purple. It holds skincare, makeup and fragrance, plus an exclusive lip balm from Shiseido's holiday collaboration with designer Tomo Koizumi.

Inside the Calendar

The 24 doors are split across two lacquered drawers. They contain 15 facial skincare products, 4 body and hand products, 4 makeup pieces and 1 fragrance. According to advent.center, this is Shiseido's first global advent calendar.

The calendar includes five full-size products:

• Benefiance Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream (15ml)
• Expert Sun Protector Lotion SPF50+ (50ml)
• Synchro Skin Soft Blurring Primer (30ml)
• ImperialLash MascaraInk, which Shiseido describes as a lash-defining, smudge-proof formula

advent.center calculates the price at £7.88 per door. That is higher than the median of about £5.08 per door across the beauty calendars it lists this season. Most of the non-full-size products are travel sizes of 15ml or less.

Shiseido has released the Blockbuster Vanity Kit 2026, an eight-item skincare and makeup set priced at €250 with a stated value of €585. Six of the items are full size, and they come in a black woven pouch with a gold plaque. Durbin Rock reports that the set "has officially launched", and Beauty Detective's listing, dated 20 September 2026, says it is coming soon to the UK. The Instagram post we first saw also says it is coming soon to the UK. Below are the contents item by item and what the stated value does and doesn't tell you.

Durbin Rock describes the bag as the Shiseido Elegant Woven Pouch, a black woven zip pouch with a gold chrome Shiseido Ginza Tokyo plaque. The set is part of Shiseido's GINZA WONDER holiday collection.

Price and Value

The set costs €250. According to Shiseido, buying the items one by one would cost €585, so the set price is about 43 percent of the stated total. The sources do not give the individual retail prices of the eight items, so the €585 figure could not be checked independently. Stated values in gift sets are the brand's own totals.

How It Compares with Previous Releases

Beauty Detective's 2024 write-up lists that year's kit at £160 with a stated value of £320. That kit had three full-size items (the cleansing foam, the Vital Perfection cream and the mascara) and six smaller ones. The 2026 kit has six full-size items and two minis, so more of the contents are full size. The currencies differ (£ in 2024, € now), so the prices are not directly comparable.

Key Details

The Vital Perfection cream and the Ultimune serum are both 50 ml full sizes. The eye cream is also full size at 15 ml. The set also includes a cleansing foam, a cleansing massage brush, a hand cream mini and two makeup items: a full-size mascara and a mini lipstick.
