The perfume is a one-time, limited-quantity "social drop" developed with fragrance developer Ann Gottlieb. Dove says it made the scent after years of fan requests. It joins this season's other fragrance releases.

Release Date
Dove Original Fragrance goes on sale on 27 October 2026 at 9am PT / 12pm ET, exclusively on dovefragrance.com. Waitlist sign-up opened on 22 October 2026. Dove says the fragrance will not return once it sells out. The Original Beauty Bar remains available at retailers nationwide.
Price
The perfume costs $19.57 in the US. The figure refers to 1957, the year the Dove Beauty Bar launched in the U.S. as a gentle cleanser made with ¼ moisturizing cream. Dove has not announced prices for any other market or size.
Dove Original Fragrance Notes
Dove hasn't published a top, heart and base pyramid. The brand describes the scent only as "soft, clean and comforting."
Ann Gottlieb told InStyle how she adapted the scent of the bar. She said she softened some of its fresh aspects and added "a bit of floral and creaminess" to make it wearable as a fragrance. Fragrantica lists the perfume as a floral fragrance with floral notes, creamy notes and soap.
What Does Dove Original Fragrance Smell Like?
Dove's aim is a perfume that smells like the Original Beauty Bar. Dana Paolucci, Head of Engagement Marketing at Dove U.S., told Byrdie that it is "a true skin scent." She added that its profile "translates to real memories and feelings versus defined notes."
Cosmopolitan's beauty editor described a floral-powdery base that dries down to a soft, clean skin scent. Gottlieb called the fragrance "sheer yet assertive" and said it suits layering with other scents.

The Bottle
Dove custom-designed a clear glass bottle in the curved shape of the Dove Beauty Bar, with ORIGINAL printed on the front. The bottle is topped with a sculptural gold Dove bird cap.
