Verdict: MAC's Pro Locked Brow Gel is a clear brow gel with a 12-hour flexible hold and a dual-sided brush, made with a short, five-ingredient formula. It launched in April 2024 at $24 and is $26 on MAC's site today, rated 4.5 stars from 513 reviews.

What Is in the Formula?

MAC describes a 93% naturally derived, five-ingredient formula. The ingredients its page lists are:

• Water
• Alcohol Denat.
• Acrylic Acid/VP Crosspolymer
• Aminomethyl Propanediol
• Citric Acid

Our launch post said the gel polymer technology gives hold without dryness, stiffness or stickiness.

Our take: "naturally derived" describes where the ingredients come from, not how gentle they are. The formula contains Alcohol Denat., so if you have sensitive skin around the brows, patch test first.

How Does the Brush Work?

The dual-sided brush has long and short fibers for grooming and a tapered tip for precise styling. MAC says you can get looks from "softly groomed to salon-worthy laminated looks." Who Should Buy It?

Buy it if you want a flexible, flake-free hold with a short ingredient list and a brush that can groom or style.

Not confirmed: the "12 hours" claim, which is MAC's and which we haven't tested. The page doesn't say how MAC measured it.

Exciting news from MAC Cosmetics! They have just unveiled their upcoming Valentine's Collection, Lovestruck Luck, which also pays homage to the Lunar New Year with its heart-shaped scales design.

MAC's Snow Stack is a limited-edition white shade of its Stack Mega Mascara, released in December 2023 at $28. MAC described it as an "icy" small-batch shade for winter, available for a limited time only.

What Is Snow Stack?

MAC calls it the Stack Mega Mascara in a limited-edition snowy shade, with "infinite layers of icy haute volume and length." The formula is continuously buildable and clump-resistant, so you can customize volume from a natural look to something more dramatic, with instant lash lift and length.

Our take: a white mascara is mainly a fashion or layering product. A common way to use one is over a black coat for a frosted-tip effect, though MAC's description doesn't say how to wear it.

Is Snow Stack Still Available?

We couldn't confirm it. MAC's dedicated Snow Stack page returned a "not found" error, and the mascara listing page we opened didn't show Snow Stack among the products we could read, which suggests it has been removed from MAC's site. Search results show other listings, including Amazon and mall-retailer pages. We didn't verify any current stock or price.

What About the Regular Stack Mascara?

MAC also sells the standard M·A·CStack Mascara as a permanent product, according to search results for its site. If you like the buildable formula but not the white shade, that is the place to look.

What Is Confirmed, and What Is Not?

Confirmed: the December 2023 launch, $28 price, limited-edition status and formula description come from MAC's announcement.

Not confirmed: the current price, availability at any retailer, and whether the size in the search listing matches the 2023 tube.
