Victoria Beckham Beauty describes Portofino '97 as a citrus-woody scent inspired by Victoria and David Beckham's early dates on the Italian coast. The brand's notes: a "fresh sea breeze" clouded with incense and amber, finishing with patchouli, musk and vetiver.

What Is in the Formula?

The brand says the shimmer comes from a mix of gold and bronze pearl pigments. The base is lightweight botanical oils from olive fruit, jojoba seed and safflower, which it says absorb quickly and leave skin soft. It also credits fatty acids and antioxidants with improving skin texture and barrier function.

Our take: the oils are standard, well-liked emollients. The claim that they improve skin texture is the brand's, not something we've tested, and the pearl finish will show more on deeper and tanned skin.
