Leighton Denny Tough Love bottle with silver cap, filled with deep plum creme polish

Leighton Denny Tough Love Opaque Nail Polish is a new deep plum creme nail polish with berry undertones for autumn/winter 2026. It costs £13.50 for 13.5ml on leightondenny.com in the UK, where it was listed from 30 September 2026. According to Leighton Denny, the UK nail brand designed the shade as "a sophisticated alternative to traditional burgundy."

When Did the Leighton Denny Tough Love Nail Polish Launch?

Leighton Denny hasn't announced an official release date for Tough Love. The polish was listed on the brand's official site from 30 September 2026 and tagged as new. It launched the same day as another dark-toned nail release, the JINsoon x Vintage Dusties The Icons Collection, a three-shade set inspired by blackened reds.

Price

Tough Love costs £13.50 for a 13.5ml bottle in the UK. US, European and other international prices have not been announced.

Shade and Finish

According to Leighton Denny, Tough Love is a rich, deep plum creme with berry undertones that gives a classic shade "a modern edge." The brand describes it as "bold yet easy to wear." It says the shade brings "a fresh update to the season's richer colour palette" and works "from day through to evening."

The finish is an opaque creme rather than a shimmer or glitter, with a high-gloss shine. Leighton Denny calls Tough Love "timeless and refined" and "a deep plum nail polish you'll reach for season after season." It's one of the autumn shades in our makeup release coverage. For another UK brand's autumn 2026 launch, see the Arttitude Cosmetics Espresso Eyeshadow Palette, a coffee-themed palette of browns, creams and golds.

What Makes the Leighton Denny Tough Love Nail Polish Different?

  • Leighton Denny positions it as a plum alternative to traditional burgundy for autumn/winter, rather than another burgundy.
  • It is a single opaque creme shade with berry undertones and a high-gloss finish.
  • The brand lists it as vegan and cruelty free.

Formula and Ingredients

According to Leighton Denny, Tough Love uses a high-performance, long-lasting formula with a high-gloss, chip-resistant finish, and it is vegan and cruelty free.

The brand's product page lists the ingredients as: Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Acetate, Nitrocellulose, Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol/Trimellitic Anhydride Copolymer, Isopropyl Alcohol, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Silica, Citric Acid and Dimethicone. The colourants are listed as "+/-" and include CI 77266, CI 60725, CI 77891, CI 15850, CI 77007, CI 77742, CI 77491, CI 15985, CI 42090, CI 77510, CI 15880 and CI 19140.

How to Apply

Leighton Denny recommends applying Tough Love to clean, dry nails over a base coat such as its 2-in-1 Base Coat and Top Coat. Use two thin coats rather than one thick one, starting about 5mm from the cuticle and swiping the tip of each nail. Wait a few minutes, then finish with top coat, swiping the tips again.

JINsoon x Vintage Dusties The Icons Collection: Release Date, Shades & Prices

Three JINsoon polish bottles spilling dark red, plum and blue-shimmer lacquer around a maraschino cherry on a sage backdrop

JINsoon x Vintage Dusties The Icons is a three-shade nail polish collection of blackened reds: Theda, Rita and Uma. JINsoon made it with the @vintage_dusties Instagram account. The shades are sold separately at $18 each (US), not as a boxed set, and went on sale on JINsoon.com on 30 September 2026.

Release Date

JINsoon released The Icons on 30 September 2026, and all three shades are currently listed on JINsoon.com. The collection arrived the same day another dark autumn/winter 2026 polish was listed in the UK, the deep plum Leighton Denny Tough Love Nail Polish. More nail and colour launches are collected under BeautyTalkClub's makeup releases.

The Icons Shades: A Century of Blackened Reds

According to JINsoon, the shades are "inspired by a century of blackened reds," and each one reflects a different era in the history of the vampy manicure.

Theda (1920s)

Theda is a blackened blood red with warm undertones and a translucent jelly finish. The brand says it takes its cue from the first known blackened red nail polish. It is named for silent-film star Theda Bara, who was nicknamed "The Vamp."

Rita (1940s)

Rita is a deep wintry plum with a crelly finish (part cream, part jelly). It draws on the 1940s dark-nails trend. JINsoon says that was when advertisers first used the word "vamp" for this colour family, and the brand links the era to women wearing dark polish as a symbol of independence and power.

Uma (mid-90s)

Uma is a ripened fig red with a pearl finish and shifting green shimmer. It refers to the return of dark red nails in the grunge era.

Where to Buy

  • US: JINsoon: Theda ($18), Rita ($18), Uma ($18), or The Icons collection
  • UK: Not yet confirmed
  • Canada: JINsoon directs Canadian shoppers to The Green Jungle Beauty Shop for its products; a listing for The Icons is not yet confirmed
  • Europe: Not yet confirmed
  • Other markets: availability varies by region; more international stockists may be added.

JINsoon ships within the continental United States, and its site currently notes that orders may have a slight shipping delay. According to JINsoon's product pages, its lacquers are non-returnable for sanitary reasons. If a product arrives defective, the brand offers a replacement or credit when the order number and a photo are sent within 48 hours of delivery. JINsoon also says it can't refund or accept returns of orders sent to a third-party forwarder that doesn't pass them on.

What Makes The Icons Collection Different?

  • Each shade is tied to a named era, according to JINsoon: the 1920s (Theda), the 1940s (Rita) and the mid-90s (Uma).
  • The three shades use three different finishes: jelly, crelly, and pearl with green shimmer.
  • It is a collaboration with the @vintage_dusties Instagram account.

Formula Notes

According to JINsoon, The Icons shades are 21-free, like all of its lacquers. The brand says they are made without ingredients such as formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, camphor and parabens.

Uma's published ingredient list includes mica, tin oxide and synthetic fluorphlogopite, the shimmer ingredients behind its pearl finish. Theda's list does not include them. The ingredient lists for Rita and Uma both include Black 2 (CI 77266 [nano]).

How to Use

According to JINsoon, Power Coat Base Coat should always be used with dark, richly pigmented shades like these. The brand says a base coat helps prevent the staining that deep reds and plums can cause.
