essence has launched the essence x Care Bears Trend Edition, a limited collection of makeup, body mists and accessories. It is inspired by the Care Bears characters and is now available on essence.eu and at Douglas in Germany. Prices have not yet been announced. The line-up includes a jelly-textured hydrating primer, a lip & cheek stick and the Lash Princess waterproof mascara in Care Bears packaging.

Key Products

The collection's designs draw on Funshine Bear, Love-a-Lot Bear and Grumpy Bear, whose colours appear across the products and packaging. The main products are:

  • Care Bears Lip & Cheek Stick: a creamy, blendable multi-use stick with a vanilla brownie scent and a "love-a-lot" silicone bear charm on the lid. According to essence, it can be built up for more colour intensity on lips and cheeks. essence also lists it as the "lip & cheek balm" and describes a natural matte finish with a soft-focus effect.
  • Care Bears Jelly Grip Extreme Hydrating Primer: a lightweight, jelly-textured primer with a transparent finish. According to essence, it hydrates, gives a fresh glow and helps keep makeup in place for longer.
  • Care Bears Lash Princess Waterproof Mascara: the Lash Princess formula in blue Grumpy Bear packaging. The brand says it delivers a false-lash effect with more length and volume.
  • Care Bears Lipgloss Keychains: clear glosses with Care Bears pendants and statement charms that clip onto a bag or keys. There are three variants: Grumpy Bear (blueberry scent, blue and pink shimmer), Love-a-Lot Bear (strawberry scent) and Funshine Bear (mandarin scent, gold shimmer).
  • Care Bears Lip Oil Trio & Fluffy Holder: three lip oils in blue, yellow and pink with blueberry, mandarin and strawberry scents. They come in a fluffy pink holder with heart embroidery that attaches to a bag or keychain.

The Rest of the Line-Up

The rest of the Trend Edition includes:

  • A Care Bears eyeshadow palette with five shimmer, matte and cream shades, packaged with a soft 3D Love-a-Lot Bear motif.
  • Cloud-shaped hydrogel eye patches (30 pairs), inspired by Grumpy Bear and containing hyaluronic acid.
  • A serum highlighter.
  • A chubby lip mask stick with vitamin E and shea butter, in two variants.
  • Two friendship bracelets: one purple with silver-tone charms and one yellow with gold-tone charms.
  • A hair & body mist with vanilla, white flower and fruity notes, plus a mini layering body mist.
  • A make-up headband.
  • A make-up sponge & case.

How to Style the Collection

For an everyday look, apply the Jelly Grip primer as a base. Use the lip & cheek stick on the cheeks and lips for a matching flush, then finish with Lash Princess mascara. The lipgloss keychains clip onto a bag for touch-ups.
