Neither product is new to the range. The kit pairs two existing BUXOM formulas in matching shades. At $35, it costs less than the $48 that BUXOM says the two items would cost bought one by one.

The kit contains two products:

• Full-On Plumping Glossy Lip Oil in Dolly. BUXOM's Instagram announcement calls this the "Powerful Plumping Lip Oil." The brand's product page uses the name Full-On Plumping Glossy Lip Oil.
• Power Line Plumping Lip Liner in Dangerous Dolly. BUXOM calls this liner one of its best-sellers.

What the Brand Says

Lip oil: According to BUXOM, the formula uses a Unique Peptide Complex to help lips look plumper. The brand describes the oil as lightweight and non-sticky, with an oversized, plush doe-foot applicator. BUXOM says the oil makes lips feel softer and smoother and that it is dermatologist tested.

BUXOM also cites a US clinical study of 32 people. The brand reports that the study found:

• instant plumping and all-day hydration
• 25% fuller-looking lips after one week
• a 71% reduction in the look of fine lines and wrinkles on the lips in one week

Lip liner: BUXOM describes the Power Line liner this way:

• highly pigmented, with a creamy feel
• won't feather or bleed
• an always-sharp chiseled tip and a built-in blending brush
• waterproof, with 8-hour wear

How to Wear the Duo

1. Outline the lips with the Dangerous Dolly liner, using the chiseled tip for a sharp edge.
2. Use the built-in blending brush to soften the line inward, so there is no harsh border.
3. Apply the Dolly lip oil over the top with the doe-foot applicator for a glossy finish.

For a softer daytime look, fill in the whole lip with the liner before adding the oil. This also gives the colour a longer-lasting base.

BUXOM Cosmetics has released two limited-edition Holiday shades of its Power-Full Plumping Peptide Lip Tint, called Reddy to Dance and Last Call. Each costs $20 (US) and is available now at buxomcosmetics.com and Ulta Beauty. The shades are sparkle-finish "Shimmers" versions of the tint. They come in disco-ball ornament packaging with a To/From gift tag.

Meet the Two Holiday Shades

Reddy to Dance is a sparkly red glaze with a cherry-vanilla scent. BUXOM calls it "your ultimate party plus-one."

Last Call is a silver-sparkle glaze with a sugar-cookie scent. According to BUXOM, it "gives multi-dimensional glaze even when the party is over."

Both shades come in a disco-ball ornament-style outer pack with a To/From label.

BUXOM describes the Power-Full Plumping Peptide Lip Tint as a nourishing tinted lip mask with peptide plumping actives. The brand says the formula hydrates and plumps without a cooling tingle, and that it is gentle enough for sensitive lips.
