Bobbi Brown's Holiday 2023 Luxe Cheek and Highlighting Palettes are two limited-edition, 3-in-1 palettes at $62 each: Rose Glow and Golden Glow. Each pairs two blushes with one highlighter, and they launched in September 2023 at Neiman Marcus.

Our take: going by the names, Rose Glow leans pink-to-bronze with a soft glow highlighter, while Golden Glow leans warmer, with a bronze highlighter and a deep caramel blush that may suit deeper skin tones. We haven't swatched either palette, so treat this as a reading of the shade names, not a finding.

What Makes Them Holiday Palettes?

Bobbi Brown designed them as limited-edition gifts to add color, luminosity and a touch of elegance to holiday looks, and says the palettes are made to sculpt and add depth. BeautyVelle's launch coverage is a good place to see the packaging.

Is It Still Available?

They were limited-edition holiday products, so they may be sold out or discontinued. Some UK retailers listed Golden Glow during the launch period, but we did not re-check stock at any store.

NYX Professional Makeup's Butter Gloss Candy Swirl is a limited-edition collection of five swirled versions of its best-selling Butter Gloss, priced at $6 each. It was announced in September 2023 (retailers describe it as a holiday release) with nude, pink and berry shades, sold on nyxcosmetics.com and ulta.com.

Which Candy Swirl Shades Are There?

Our announcement said there were five shades spanning nude, pink and berry. Retailer listings in search results name three:

We couldn't confirm the names of the other two, so we haven't listed them. NYX released a separate "Swirl" set in 2024 with different shades (Peppermint, Hot Cocoa, Sugar Cookie and Holly Berry), so don't confuse the two.

What Makes It a "Swirl"?

According to retailer descriptions, the Swirl version puts two shades side by side in the tube in a spiral, like a piece of holiday candy. The formula has a silky, smooth consistency with medium color coverage and a non-sticky feel.

How Do You Wear It?

NYX's directions say to sweep the shiny gloss over the top and bottom lips with the soft wand. You can wear it alone or pair it with NYX's long-wearing Slim Lip Pencil for definition.

Our take: a $6 gloss is a low-risk way to try a holiday color. Because the shades were limited edition, they may be sold out, so check current stock before you plan around a specific shade.
