Products in the Set
Step 1: Warm Up Enzyme Treatment Mask
The first mask is self-heating. According to the brand, it exfoliates and visibly plumps. Pavitt says it warms on the skin and then tingles as the enzymes start working. Key ingredients:
- Papain (papaya enzyme) and bromelain: fruit enzymes that, according to Pavitt, gently dissolve dead skin cells
- Tranexamic acid: according to the brand, visibly corrects uneven skin tone
- Niacinamide: included for brightening, per the brand
- Squalane and panthenol: included to keep skin comfortable during exfoliation, per the brand
Step 2: Cool Down Hydrating Exosome Mask
The second mask has a cushiony gel texture, and the brand positions it as a hydrate-and-soothe step. Key ingredients:
- Centella complex: according to Pavitt, contains four active compounds that calm redness and irritation and support the skin barrier
- Polyglutamic acid: described by the brand as locking in hydration
- Ceramide NP, aloe and ectoin: included for a comfortable, supple feel, per the brand
- Caffeine: included as a refreshing finishing ingredient, per the brand

What Makes the Temp Check Hot + Cold Mask Duo Different?
- It adapts Pavitt's in-studio Contrast Therapy Facial into a two-step "warm up / cool down" routine for home use.
- It pairs a self-heating enzyme mask (papain, bromelain) with a gel mask that has "exosome" in its name.
- It comes as a kit: two 60 mL masks plus a skincare spatula and a tray.
Other masks we've covered this season take different approaches. The Dr.Jart+ Cryo-V Jawline Lifting Mask is a single-use cooling hydrogel mask. The Dr.Jart+ 10 Mask Mega Haul Holiday Gift Set is another mask set launched at Sephora US in October 2026. For more launches, see all skincare releases.
Formula and Skin Types
Sephora lists both masks as vegan, fragrance free, non-comedogenic and Clean at Sephora. Clean at Sephora is Sephora's label for formulas made without certain ingredients, including parabens, sulfates, phthalates and mineral oils. The set is listed for normal, dry, combination and oily skin, and for dullness, uneven texture and uneven skin tone. The brand says it targets dry, dull and textured skin and leaves skin looking smoother, brighter and plumper.
What the Brand Says
Pavitt told Byrdie: "Heat preps the skin, encourages microcirculation and feels super sensorial. Cryo/cold keeps it plump, lifted and bright. I wanted to bring that experience home in a way that was simple and effective." She added: "I love contrast facials before a big event or just as a mid-week boost. The warm-to-cool application exfoliates, calms, and refreshes the skin all in one go. It's a mini studio treatment at home."
Many of the brand's products are designed with acne-prone skin in mind, but Pavitt says Temp Check was formulated for all skin types.
How to Use
According to the brand, use the spatula to apply a generous layer of the Warm Up Mask to clean, dry skin. Leave it on for 10–15 minutes, rinse with cool water and pat dry, then immediately apply the Cool Down Mask for 10–15 minutes and rinse thoroughly, 1–2 times per week. Pavitt recommends using it as a weekly treatment in place of other actives: skip other exfoliants that evening, rinse the spatula between masks, and if you have active, inflamed acne, use only the Cool Down Mask until skin is calmer.
