What Do the Under Eye Patches Do?

Rare Beauty says the cooling hydrogel patches hydrate, smooth and revive the under-eye area for a refreshed look after a single use, leaving skin looking firmer and reducing the look of fine lines. They stay in place without slipping, and leave no sticky residue, so you can apply makeup right after.

What Is in Them?

  • Caffeine: brightens and visibly smooths.
  • Green tea extract: antioxidant-rich, to soothe.
  • Hyaluronic acid: hydrates and conditions.
  • Cacao seed: antioxidant-rich, restores skin's barrier.

How Do You Use Them?

Peel off the protective film, place each patch on clean, dry skin under the eyes, and gently remove after 10 minutes. Rare Beauty recommends them as a makeup-prep step.

Our take: eight pairs works out to about $3.13 a pair, which is worth weighing against how often you'd use them. Under-eye patches are a temporary, cosmetic freshening step, so expect a brief effect, not a lasting change.

How Do Shoppers Rate Them?

The product page shows 4.8 out of 5 stars from 194 reviews, a strong score on a modest sample.

What Is Confirmed, and What Is Not?

Confirmed: price, count, ingredients, directions and rating come from Rare Beauty's product page; the June 4, 2024 Sephora date comes from the launch announcement.

Not confirmed: current Sephora stock, and the patches' size.

September 21, 2026 update: we re-checked the price and rating. The price is unchanged since launch.
