Prada Beauty launched its first-ever makeup line in summer 2023, alongside a revived skincare range. It went on sale at Harrods and Selfridges in the UK and on prada-beauty.com from August 1, 2023. The launch covered lipsticks, eyeshadow palettes, a foundation, a tinted lip balm, brushes and a three-step skincare routine, most of it in refillable packaging.

## What Was in the Prada Beauty Makeup Launch?

-   **Monochrome lipsticks:** 26 shades in total, split into two all-matte formulas. Hyper Matte is embossed with a Saffiano leather texture and Soft Matte with Prada's Re-Nylon texture. Each has 13 shades, per [Grazia's launch review](https://graziadaily.co.uk/beauty-hair/makeup/prada-beauty-range-review/).
-   **Dimensions eyeshadow palettes:** six palettes, each inspired by a Prada archive print. Every palette pairs three fairly neutral shades with one bold accent (canary yellow, red or purple, for example) across satin, soft matte, hyper matte and "meta foil" finishes.
-   **Reveal Skin Optimizing Foundation:** 33 shades with what Prada calls IRL (In-Real-Life) micro-filter technology for a soft-focus, demi-matte finish, plus niacinamide and vitamin E.
-   **Lip balm** in Prada's signature mint green, and an edit of ten brushes and tools.

**Correction:** our original 2023 post said each palette held three shades and that there were 13 lipsticks. ## What Is Prada Augmented Skin?

The skincare side has three products meant for day and night use: The Cleanser & Makeup Remover (£85), The Serum – Face & Eye (£315) and The Cream – Day & Night (£275). Prada says they are built on "Adapto.gn Smart Technology", a complex of adaptogens from 15 rare plants, combined with proxylane, hyaluronic acid, vitamin CG and ceramides. Grazia reports the cream contains 18% proxylane, 2% vitamin CG and 0.2% ceramides.

## How Was the Collection Designed?

Alexander built the shade range with digital artist Ines Alpha, testing colors on Prada avatars in many skin tones. According to The Glossary, the team also drew on Prada's archive of 27,000 fabrics and prints. Most packaging is refillable. Prada says the Augmented Skin Cream refill uses 86% less packaging than buying a new jar.

## What We Can and Can't Confirm

**Confirmed:** the product line-up, shade counts, UK launch prices and the August 1, 2023 date for prada-beauty.com.

**Not confirmed:** current US pricing and which launch shades are still sold. Prada's beauty site blocked our automated check on September 25, 2026.

**Our take:** Prada launched with a tight edit rather than a huge range. It went all-matte on lipstick and chose 33 foundation shades where competitors push past 50. The palettes, with one "ugly-chic" accent per quad, are the most distinctive part of the launch.
